How To Set Up Family Safety On Windows 8
|Windows 8 Operating System has a great Feature of Family Safety which helps you to monitor your Child’s activity and set limits on your child’s Account. So if children’s use your computer, consider setting up Family Safety controls through their user accounts. These controls allow you to make different settings for each child.
Turning On Family Safety on Windows 8 :
1- First Open the Control Panel From Desktop .
2 – Click on Family Safety.
3 – Click on User.
4 – Now Select On, Enforce Current Settings option Under Family Safety.
5- Done !
Setting up Web Filtering :
1 – Under Windows Settings Click on Web Filtering.
2 – If you want to allow Child user to use all websites then Select child user can use all websites.
3 – If you want to block some websites for Child user then Select child user can only use the websites I allow .
4 – Click on Set web filtering level and Manage settings according to you .
5 – Click on Allow or block specified websites.
6 – Enter the websites url you want to allow or block .
That’s It ! Now Click on Close button.
Setting up Time Limits :
1 – Under Windows Settings, Click on Time Limits.
2 – Click on Set Time Allowance for set the numbers of hours Child user can use the PC per day.
3 – If you want to allow Child user to use PC all day then Select Child user can use the PC all day .
4 – If you want to allow Child user to use PC for limited time only then Select Child User can only use the PC for the amount of time I allow and set up the number of hours and minutes the user can use the computer on weekdays and weekends.
5 – Click on Curfew to set times when Child user can’t us PC at All .
Done !
Setting up Windows Store and Game Restrictions :
1 – Click on Windows Store And Game Restrictions under Windows Settings.
2 – Select the first option, Child User Can Play All Games And View All Windows Store Apps, if you want to allow the child user to play all games and view all Windows Store Apps.
3 – Select the Second option, User can only use games and Windows Store apps I allow, if you don’t want the user to play all games.
4 – If you prefer to allow the user to use some games, click on Set Game And Windows Store Ratings.
5 – Now Select to allow or block games with no rating.
7 – Now you can Click on Close button.
Setting up App Restrictions :
1 – Click on App Restrictions under Windows Settings.
2 – Select Child user can use all apps, if you want to allow Child user to use all the apps.
3 – If you want to block some Apps then select Child user can only use the apps I allow .
4 – Check the apps that can be used.
5 – That’s It .
Note – You Must be Logged In as Administrator on your PC for setting up Family Safety Account and you can set up Family Safety Controls only to Standard User Accounts in Windows 8 .
